SPEAKING POINTS
- The world is faced with disruption including COVID 19, climate change, regulatory (IFRS17), technology and demographic shifts.
- Insurers need to be adaptable and agile
- Timing of when to act is of essence – three phases (Anticipation, reaction, and crisis)
- Anticipation – when all is well and everything working perfectly. This is the time to experiment and try out new things (being ahead of change)
- Reaction – when there are forces compelling decision making. No luxury of time.
- Crisis – when hope is lost. Learn lessons and turn crisis into anticipation and begin experimenting.
- Insurers as risk carriers should be ahead of time and provide solutions. They should adapt chameleon formula and become “change proofs”.
